Heparin sodium is an anticoagulant that can interfere with many aspects of the coagulation process and has anticoagulant effects both in vivo and in vitro. Its mechanism of action is relatively complex, mainly by binding to antithrombin III (AT-III) and enhancing its inhibitory effect on activated coagulation factors II, IX, X, XI, and XII. Its consequences involve preventing platelet aggregation and destruction, hindering the formation of coagulation activating enzymes, preventing prothrombin from turning into thrombin, inhibiting thrombin, and thus hindering fibrinogen from turning into fibrin, thereby exerting anticoagulant effects.
Prevent thrombosis and embolism, such as deep vein thrombosis, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, thrombophlebitis, and postoperative thrombosis.
Treat disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) caused by various reasons, such as bacterial sepsis, placental abruption, and DIC caused by malignant tumor cell lysis, except for DIC caused by snake bites. Early application can prevent the consumption of fibrinogen and other coagulation factors.
Other in vitro and in vivo anticoagulants, such as cardiac catheterization, extracorporeal circulation during cardiac surgery, hemodialysis, etc.

This product is a white or off white powder, highly hygroscopic. This product is easily soluble in water.
Medicine interactions
1. Heparin combined with the following drugs can increase the risk of bleeding: coumarin and its derivatives, aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, dipyridamole, dextran, adrenocorticotropic hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, tissue plasminogen activator, urokinase, streptokinase, etc.
2. Heparin combined with drugs such as sodium bicarbonate and sodium lactate to correct acidosis can promote the anticoagulant effect of heparin.
3. Heparin and hyaluronidase mixed injection can alleviate intramuscular injection pain and promote heparin absorption. However, heparin can inhibit hyaluronidase activity, so the two should be used temporarily in combination and should not be left for a long time after drug mixing.
