Ingredients

The main ingredient of this product is metronidazole. Its chemical name is 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole-1-ethanol, and the excipients are sodium chloride and injection water.

This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Indications/Functional Indications

Metronidazole has a strong antibacterial effect on most anaerobic bacteria, but has no effect on aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria. The antibacterial spectrum includes Bacteroidetes fragilis and other Bacteroidetes, Clostridium, Clostridium, Clostridium, Enterococcus, and Streptococcus. Actinobacteria, Lactobacillus, and Propionibacterium are resistant to this product. Its bactericidal concentration is slightly higher than the bacteriostatic concentration. This product can also inhibit the oxidation-reduction reaction of amoebic protozoa, causing the nitrogen chain of the protozoa to break. In vitro experiments have shown that when the drug concentration is 1-2mg/L, histolytic amoebas can undergo morphological changes within 6-20 hours and are completely killed within 24 hours. When the concentration is 0.2mg/L, histolytic amoebas can be killed within 72 hours. This product has a powerful ability to kill trichomonas, but its mechanism is unclear. It has carcinogenic effects on certain animals.

This product is mainly used for the treatment of anaerobic bacterial infections.

Usage and dosage

Please use under the guidance of a physician.

Intravenous infusion.

1. Common dosage for adults: For anaerobic bacterial infections, intravenous administration should be administered at a dose of 15mg/kg body weight for the first time (1g for 70kg adults, i.e. 2 bottles), and a maintenance dose of 7.5mg/kg body weight, administered intravenously every 6-8 hours.

2. Common dosage for children: The injection dosage for anaerobic bacterial infections is the same as that for adults.

Attention

(1) Interference with diagnosis: The metabolites of this product can cause urine to appear dark red.

(2) For patients with pre-existing liver disease, the dosage should be reduced. Medication should be discontinued when there is movement disorder or other central nervous system symptoms. Before repeating a course of treatment, a white blood cell count should be performed. For patients with anaerobic bacterial infection combined with renal failure, the dosing interval should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours.

(3) This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism. During medication, alcohol should be avoided. Symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and headache may occur after drinking alcohol.

(4) Do not use in case of cloudy medication, foreign objects, broken bottle body, loose mouth, etc. Do not use it again if it cannot be used up at once.
