Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Release Capsule

Each capsule contains Esomeprazole Magnesium Trihydrate 44.5mg (Equal to 40 mg of Esomeprazole Magnesium), Hypromellosc, Magnesium Stearate, Polysorbate, Sugar Spheres, Talc, Triethyl Citrate, Mono-and Diglycerides, Methacrylic Acid and Ethyl Acrylate Copolymer Dispcrsion, Puriled Water q.s.

1. It is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), such as erosive reflux esophagitis treatment; Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in cured patients with esophagitis; Symptom control of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

2. Combined with appropriate antimicrobial therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, heal duodenal ulcer associated with helicobacter pylori infection, and prevent the recurrence of peptic ulcer associated with helicobacter pylori.

This product is an enteric capsule for oral administration. This product should be swallowed whole and should be taken at least one hour before meals.

For patients who have difficulty swallowing the capsule, add a tablespoon of applesauce to an empty bowl, open the capsule, and carefully pour the granules inside the capsule over the applesauce. Pellets should be mixed with applesauce and then swallowed immediately: do not store for future use. The applesauce used should not be overheated and soft enough to avoid needing to be chewed and swallowed. Pellets should not be chewed or crushed. If the pellet/applesauce mixture is not all used, the remaining mixture should be discarded immediately.

For patients with nasogastric tubes, this product can be opened, the intact particles poured into a 60mL catheter tip syringe, and mixed with 50 mL water. When administering this product through a nasogastric tube, only the catheter tip syringe should be used. Replace the plunger and shake the syringe vigorously for 15 seconds. Lift the syringe and check for particles remaining on the tip. The syringe is connected to the nasogastric tube and the contents of the syringe are delivered to the stomach through the nasogastric tube. After taking granules, the nasogastric tube should be flushed with separate water. Do not use if the particles dissolve or decompose.

The mixture must be used immediately after preparation.
